Welcome to The Emily Nainital
The Emily Villa was built in the year 1864 when Nainital was established as a summer retreat by the British. It is one of the oldest houses still standing in Nainital, built on the safe land-slide free side of Nainital amidst beautiful Oak forests. It was Home to the Daughter of Dr. Stevens, One of Jim Corbett’s closest friends and shooting partner, being hunters of only Man- eating tigers and leopards.
Jim Corbett’s house called “Gurney House” is just below Emily Cottage and can be seen clearly from the garden. Some of the trophies that adorn Emily were given to Dr. Steven by Jim Corbett himself. Situated in the lush green dense Oak forests of Ayarpatta Nainital, The Emily – Nainital is a home away from home giving the feeling of British taste and style.
All five bedrooms have antique beds and accompanying furniture all dating back to the 1860’s.There is a large drawing room with a fireplace that still works. The Emily is cradled in a thick Oak forest and the pristine Oak trees that have never been cut and surround the house would never let you feel that town ‘Nainital” is just ten minutes away.
The Emily Villa would steal your heart if you are loking for a peaceful and homely experience. There is a old world charm in this property, the moment you step-in this place will mesmerize you in many ways. Its Elegance, Beauty and Warmth will attract you and want you to keep coming back.
